Remembering Dimebag Darrell
Today's the 4th year anniversary of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's passing, but to me it doesn't even feel like he died. I still listen to alot of Pantera songs to this day, and I even bought a guitar so I can try to shred like Brother Dime. I still totally suck though xD.
If you don't know who I'm talkin bout, I'll put up a playlist of my favorite Pantera songs in commemoration of one of the greatest guitarists in the world!! I haven't heard his style duplicated in any of these newer metal bands, much less his signature squeal, that's probably why I never get tired of listening to him play. His clean, but heavy riffs, coupled with Phil Anselmo's vocals and Vinnie Pauls relentless attack on the drums really did make a legendary thrash/heavy/southern metal band.
Wish I could've gone to one of their concerts. All the ones I see on Youtube are badass... (sigh)
Here's a video I found, one of Pantera's home videos, about the band and friends kickin ass and just havin fun. Way before the band broke up.
R.I.P Dimebag Darrell... 1966 - 2004 \m/
